Visitor Visas
Subclass 600
Visitor Visa
Allows genuine visitors to travel to Australia for various reasons. There are four streams – Tourist, Sponsored Family, Business Visitor and Approved Destination Status.
Subclass 601
Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) Visa
An electronically recorded visa available to certain passport holders which can be applied for at the time of booking or at the time of boarding to travel to Australia.
Subclass 602
Medical Treatment Visa
Allows the holder to travel to or to remain in Australia for medical treatment or a related purpose.
Subclass 651
Evisitor – Tourist Visa
An authority for travel to Australia for short term tourism or business visits available to holders of an eVisitor eligible passport. (Applicants whose passports are also identified as ETA eligible must apply for an eVisitor a subclass 651 visa and cannot apply for the 601.)
Work and Holiday Visas
Subclass 417
Working Holiday Visa
Allows a 12-month stay for eligible passport holders aged between 18 and not yet turned 31. Up to the age of 35 for certain eligible passport holders. They can work for any one employer for six months. A second 417 visa can be granted if they perform specified work for at least three months in the fields of agriculture, mining, forestry, fishing, or construction in regional areas. A third 417 can be granted if the visa holder has completed an additional six months of specified work in a regional area while holding their second 417.
Subclass 462
Work and Holiday (Temporary) Visa
Allows a 12-month stay for eligible passport holders aged between 18 and not yet turned 35.
